Summary: We collect only what's needed to run the app — your account info (email, name, avatar) and the content you create (quests, comments, prize confirmations). We don't sell your data, and we don't track you with third-party analytics.
1. Who we are
Questero ("we", "our") is an app that lets people discover and create real-world treasure hunts. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights over it.
2. Data we collect
Account data
When you sign in (Google or email), we receive and store:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile picture (if you provide one)
- Optional bio and social links you add to your profile
Content you create
- Quests you publish (title, description, hints, photos)
- Comments you post
- Prize confirmations (messages and media from winners)
Technical data
Our servers log IP address, request type, and timestamp for debugging and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a short period and not used to profile you.
3. How we use data
- To run the app: show quests, attribute content to authors, deliver notifications
- To keep accounts secure: authentication via Firebase
- To respond to support requests you send us
4. Third parties
We rely on Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage) and Google Cloud (hosting). Your data is processed by these services on our behalf. We do not use advertising trackers, marketing analytics, or sell data to anyone.
5. Children
Questero is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. In jurisdictions where the minimum age is higher (for example, 16 in parts of the European Union under GDPR), the higher local age applies. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at questero.app@gmail.com and we will delete it.
6. Your rights
You can:
- View and edit your profile inside the app at any time
- Delete your account — this removes your profile and personal data. Public content (quests, comments) may be retained in anonymized form if other users have interacted with it.
- Contact us to request a copy of your data or ask any privacy question

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
